Steelhomesg offers various window designs for your home in Singapore. If you're unsure of which option is more suited for you, we've put together a guide that can help your window selection a little less tricky.

Sliding Windows 

  • Sliding Windows consist of panels arranged side by side which slides horizontal along a single or 2, 3 or 4 tracks
  • Can be paired with top hung windows
  • Sliding windows possess fewer mechanical/alignment issues and they're easy to operate and maintain
  • Simple sliding window designs keep cost to a minimum
  • However dirt and debris can accumulate in the tracks

Casement Windows

  • Casement Windows open outwards on hinges mounted at the top and bottom

  • Casement windows when closed will provide better sound insulation especially when paired with double glazed glass as compared to sliding windows

  • Can be paired with Top Hung Windows
  • However these types of windows are higher maintenance due to the hinges

Top Hung Windows

  • Similar to Casement windows, Top Hung windows comes with Hinges but at the top left and right corners to allow the windows to open from the bottom
  • Top hung windows provides protection from rain - they can be left open during rain for better ventilation
  • Similar to Casement windows, they can provide excellent noise reduction when paired with double glazed glass

Louvre Windows

  • Louvre windows consists of horizontal glass panels that can be adjusted to allow more light or wind to pass through
  • Same can be said in terms of privacy and light
  • However these don't provide as much security for ground floor units
